2005 Merlot
VINTAGE
2005 was a very good vintage with warm dry conditions throughout the flowering and ripening period.
WINEMAKING
Small open vats were used to ferment the merlot for 10 days with twice daily plunging. Maturation was carried out in new French Oak Hogsheads for 14 months before blending and bottling.
COLOUR
Attractive deep red in colour.
BOUQUET
Youthful cherry fruit aromas with a hint of oak and chocolate aromas.
PALATE
Textured and smooth in balance with sweet blueberry and blackberry nuances.
SUGGESTED FOOD
Enjoy with braised lamb pie.
CELLARING
An outstanding wine made to drink young and fresh and will reward with careful cellaring for 3 years.
