2005 Shiraz
VINTAGE
This was a very good vintage with warm dry conditions throughout March and April providing very favourable fruit flavours with excellent natural acid & balance.
WINEMAKING
The Shiraz was harvested when the grapes were a little riper due to the warm weather experienced in the region. Fermentation on the skins was carried out for 7 days to retain generous flavours and structure.
COLOUR
Intense red / purple in colour.
BOUQUET
A warm wonderful combination of spice and white pepper and typical varietal Shiraz characters on the nose.
PALATE
This Coonawarra wine is a wonderful medium to full bodied Shiraz with a hint of oak. Displaying typical Shiraz fruit flavours with a touch of black pepper and spice. Excellent balances of French and American oak and raspberry fruit combine for a lingering smooth finish.
SUGGESTED FOOD
Enjoy with venison and duck dishes or fine cheeses.
CELLARING
Drinking well now to 2010.
