2007 Shiraz
VINTAGE
The 2007 ripening season was characterised by a very dry winter followed by the most concentrated vintage in Australian winemaking history, the result being very intense fruit flavours in the wines.
WINEMAKING
The grapes were harvested at optimum maturity and fermented on skins for 10 days then matured for 12 months using a combination of French and American Oak Alternatives and 1-2 year old French oak hogsheads.
COLOUR
Intense red / purple in colour.
BOUQUET
A warm wonderful combination of spice and white pepper and typical varietal Shiraz characters on the nose.
PALATE
This Coonawarra wine is a wonderful medium to full bodied Shiraz with a hint of oak. Displaying typical Shiraz fruit flavours with a touch of black pepper and spice. Excellent balances of French and American oak and raspberry fruit combine for a lingering smooth finish.
