2008 Chardonnay

VINTAGE
The 2008 ripening season was characterised by a very dry winter followed by the most concentrated vintage in Australian winemaking history, the result being very intense fruit flavours in the wines.

WINEMAKING
Grapes were harvested at optimum maturity and in the cool of night. The juice was separated and fermented at cool temperatures to maximise fruit characters. The wine was bottled immediately after fermentation to retain the fresh and vibrant fruit characters.

COLOUR
Pale straw with a distinct green hue.

BOUQUET
Vibrant fresh lemon citrus, peach and mango fruit aromas.

PALATE
Fresh, delicate style with attractive green apple and pear flavours with a long, lingering citrus-driven finish.

SUGGESTED FOOD
Grilled Atlantic Salmon accompanied by a fresh summer salad with a citrus dressing.

CELLARING
The 2008 Chardonnay will improve over the next 3 years. A very attractive drinking now style, but will delight with fruit complexity in future years.
